Before, I had always gotten an OEM type copy with component purchases, mother board purchases, etc. Great price and quick delivery. I have always loved this software. I am glad to finally have a full copy of this awesome program.
For the price, I think that it is the best deal on the market. Free super savers shipping is a great incentive.
I can write far more but the idea is here for potential purchasers: if you are impressed by earlier versions of Nero, this one will shatter that perception. What plug-in. The file converter gives cryptic messages of: this cannot be converted - maybe a dedicated plug-in will fix it. From what others on this site write, Nero 9 is worse. Version 8 ultra of Nero Suite is very unfriendly, confusing to use and has a lot of useless stuff that cannot be turned off. For example, a little marquee at the GUI bottom advertises without a means to turn it off. Nero 6 has everything in one spot for doing tasks; this version has applications scattered all round and has an annoying countdown screen that delays start up.
I had to go to a specific shared folder to delete the neropatentactivation file, but it was a simple step. So, hopefully This version of Nero will be as reliable for me as ultra 6 was. All in All, SO FAR, very satisfied. I haven't tried burning a DVD yet, but that's next. I tried Ashampoo burning studio 8, but found out it was not designed for 64 bit systems and was limited options-wise.
I have burned 2 audio CD's, and no worries. I downloaded the install file and purchased a keycode from an ebay seller, went real smooth. I also had to download the help files separately, but nero provides a link for that. I have cyberlink power2go provided on the pc by HP, but its kinda bare bones. I've just installed version 8.3.6 on an HP pavillion with vista 64BIT and it seems to be working great.
I had no problem installing the software. I tried Roxio Ultimate Creator 2009, all it did was keep my pc locked up.
I haven't come across any "bugs" or technical difficulties. The only features I use on a regular basis are "Nero Express", "Nero Burning ROM" and "Nero Vision". Nero 8 serves well as a fairly decent burning software. This package tends to be fairly 'bloated'.
